Welcome to the Community Corner! This is where you can find the latest news for this wiki, such as new features, outstanding contributors, new moderators and more.
Admins and Moderators
No Admin or Moderator positions are open at the moment, mainly because this wiki simply isn't big enough to warrant adding new Admins.
From now on, there will be an award for 'Editor of the Month'! The winner will get a profile tag of the same name for that month, after which it will be changed to 'Dedicated' permanently.
So far, I've seen 3 or 4 reported comments in the past 2 weeks. It's good to see people going ahead and reporting them so the admins can take care of it!
Please keep it up, I'm hoping the wiki grows with this!
There are new guidelines for this wiki.
For the most part, the content on that page is more or less what is already being done all around the wiki.
Such a page exists for a few reasons:
- To act as a reference for existing editors
- To instruct new editors on our wiki specific standard
- To explicitly state rules and their penalties, so that it may be handled fairly and systematically
In a nutshell, it's supposed to help set the standard for what this wiki should look like and act.
Please note, editing standards won't be enforced (as in no penalties, etc!), however the only part that I highly suggest you follow is to cite your sources! This is just so that the wiki doesn't get filled with speculations, and non-factual data. Citing helps people know that the information provided on the page is true!
Commenting, for obvious reasons will absolutely be moderated in accordance with the rules. The poll results (locked after a week and no activity) show that people are generally fine with the rules. I changed one of the rules at the suggestion of a editor, to allow people to express their negative views of the author.
However (and this is a big however), this does not mean you get to bash the author or be toxic in the comments. Such things will get you a ban. You can express your views without being an idiot in the comments.
I've been working on getting some templates fixed up, while adding new ones. Feel free to use them where you see fit. These templates all have their own set of documentation to show you what it does and how to use it. My documentation is a little crude, so feel free to edit it (as long as you standardise it!).
Needs Citations - New Template (not to be confused with Citation Needed). This template is one notice for an entire page!
Sidenote - Used to display small notes. This will now be used to standardise all sidenotes especially in infoboxes.
Infobox Character - Automatically adds categories based on input
Scroll Box - New Template that can be used by itself, or in Infoboxes where there is too much to fit in one section
Reflist - New Template for references that adds a scroll box and can sort references into 2 or 3 columns. Looks much neater and compact.
Follow these links to see the template code and their documentation:
NEW - Profile Tags
Profile tags are here! I've added a module that allows the admins to give custom tags to users (purely cosmetic).
For now, there are no custom tags as I haven't had time to think of any, but feel free to suggest some to me via my message wall!
Please note, tags will be given on a merit basis. If you don't contribute to this wiki (either by editing or commenting) then you won't get a tag!
That's all for now!
